If the BxEngine and/or BxSmartPrintPro services do not respond (404 error), they likely need to be restarted
It can sometimes, for some unknown reasons, occur that the BxEngine and/or BxSmartPrintPro services stops working. This may, in some cases, come as a result of the services being unable to start up again after a PC or server has performed a restart. This can happen because of a Windows update, or a warehouse PC that gets turned on and off on a daily basis.
When the BxEngine and/or BxSmartPrintPro services do not respond, it will be displayed as a 404 error in BxWebManager, or No such host/host not responding in BxMobile. This can easily be solved by starting/restarting the BxEngine/BxSmartPrintProService in Windows services.
To open Windows Services, search for Services in the Windows menu. Press Services with the cog wheel to open. Some cases may require admin access to open this up. If this becomes necessary, please contact your IT department.
Open Services and you will find BxEngine, or BxSmartPrintProService. In some cases these may have been placed on separate PC's/servers. So make sure that you log onto the correct PC/server, depending on which service that needs to be restarted. Press the service that needs to be started/restarted, then press Start/Restart. Wait a minute before attempting to use the handheld terminal or print labels again.
When this has been completed, the services should now be working again.
