How can BxSmartPrintPro be updated?
Updating BxSmartPrintPro to the latest version.
It is necessary to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) - 14.0.24212 or newer before update if BxSmartPrintPro is older than 2.1.31. More info here.
It can be a good idea to check if BxSmartPrintProService has a service user before update. It often requires one if the printer is shared from another server/PC or if the print catalogue varies from standard, i.ex sending label printouts directly from the ERP or other systems that does not use BxSmartPrintPro standard catalogue under C:\ProgramData\BxSoftware\BxSmartPrintPro\Data. To check for this, you can look in the same menu as "Update Application" in point 3 below.
Approach
- Start BxSmartPrintPro. You can usually find BxSmartPrintPro on your desktop or in the start menu. If not, you will find it under C:\Program Files (x86)\BxSoftware\BxSmartPrintPro → BxSmartPrintPro.exe
- OpenAdmin screen, the little tool icon in the upper left corner.
- Press Update Application
- Press Yes to the question of whether you want to update or not.
- Check off the I accept the terms in the License Agreement and Install
- UAC will normally appear with the question of whether or not you wish to install, press Yes on this.
- Let the installation run and when the update is finished, you will see this message.
Press Finish
- BxSmartPrintPro should now start back up normally, and you will be able to see what version it is on the very top line.
