Picking - Multipick

Multipick lets you pick several orders at once, for example all orders to the same customer and delivery address. This article covers the modes and settings.

Multipick lets you pick several orders at the same time. It is typically used for orders to the same customer and delivery address. It is controlled by the multipick setting on Pickinglist (or a custom picking module) in the client configuration.

The match and matchquestion modes and the multipickmatchfields, multipickdialogfield and multipickfilterlist settings are available from BxMobile 2026.6.5376 on Android and 2026.10.5594 on iOS.

Modes (multipick)

ValueDescription
falseDefault. Normal picking of one order at a time.
matchWhen you select an order, all other orders with equal values in the multipickmatchfields fields are included automatically. It uses the standard pickinglist query, so no separate query is needed.
matchquestionLike match, but asks first. The dialog shows how many orders will be included and which ones.
manualSelect several orders manually in the order list. When multipickmatchfields is set, you can only select orders that match the first selected order.
trueLegacy variant with its own query, PickinglistMulti (or the query in multiPickQuery), that finds the orders to pick together.
questionLike true, but asks first.

Recommendation: Use match or matchquestion for new setups. Then you don't have to keep a separate multipick query in sync with the pickinglist query. A separate query (true/question) is only needed for special logic, such as prioritising between orders, merging pickinginformation across orders, or changing the order header during multipick.

Settings

SettingDefaultDescription
multipickmatchfieldscustomerno,delname,deladdress,deladdress2,delpostcode,delcity,deldateComma-separated list of fields that must be equal for orders to be multipicked together. Used by match, matchquestion and manual. The fields must exist as columns in the pickinglist query. For example, set customerno to group by customer number only.
multipickdialogfieldpickinglistField shown for each order in the question dialog. Set it to orderno to show order numbers.
multipickfilterlisttrueUsed with manual. true filters the order list among the orders already loaded once the first order is selected. online fetches matching orders from the server in the same way as match. false disables filtering.

How match and matchquestion work

  • Orders are fetched from the standard pickinglist query with exact filters on the match fields, plus the same employee and project filters as the order list. Orders beyond pickinglistlimit are therefore also found.
  • The comparison is case-insensitive and ignores leading and trailing spaces. If a match field is empty on the selected order, it must also be empty on the other orders.
  • Orders locked by another user, and orders already parked on the device, are not included.
  • The order you tapped becomes the main order, which is the first order in the pick.
  • If no other orders match, the order opens as normal, without a question.

Manual multipick with match fields

  • After you select the first order, the list is filtered to the matching orders. This is controlled by multipickfilterlist.
  • If you select or scan an order that does not match, an error lists the fields that must match.
  • Refreshing the list clears the selection. Search only shows orders that match the first selected order.
  • Clear all selections to get the full list back.

Parking a multipick

From BxMobile 2026.10.5594:

  • When you park a multipick, each order is parked separately and the lines are stored per multipick. A parked multipick therefore keeps its lines even if you pick or send other orders in the meantime.
  • The orders in a parked multipick are shown as separate rows in the parked colour in the order list. Tapping any of them reopens the whole multipick.
  • If you release one of the orders in a parked multipick, the whole multipick is released. The dialog lists all the orders being released, and all of them are unlocked.
  • Multipicks parked before the upgrade can still be resumed.

Troubleshooting

  • No orders are included: Check that every field in multipickmatchfields exists in the pickinglist query and that the values are exactly equal. Delivery date, for example, must have the same format and time.
  • Orders with different spelling, such as an extra leading space in an address, are not matched. Clean up the data or normalise the field in the query.
  • Too many orders are included: Add more fields to multipickmatchfields.
  • A parked multipick is missing lines or has the wrong lines: This is a known bug in versions older than BxMobile 2026.10.5594. Upgrade BxMobile.
